"Grow Your Retail Store with the Little Things"
Often it’s the little things that make a big difference in creating Out-Nordstrom Nordstrom Customer Service in your retail store.
In retail it can be as simple as telling the customer to "walk this way" and going with them to find what they are looking for instead of telling them which aisle to go to.
In any environment just doing slightly more than anyone else is willing to do will make you stand out when compared to the average clerk, cashier, or customer service representative.
Doug Woods from Olde New England Hearth and Home wrote to me about the little things in his retail store, “We Practice this concept in our shop. We walk the customer to the item put it in their hands and suggest other options to go along with it. This increased our sales by 15% and our customer complaints have dropped by 60%. http://www.oldenewenglandhh.com/
Another retail store client of ours, Rolf Williams with Jerrol’s Book and Office Supply, trains his staff to walk the client to the item while asking what they’re working on. They have a lot of people working on arts and crafts coming into the store. Rolf says more times than not this leads to sales of other products. http://www.jerrols.com/
So, not only does the little things lead to customer service that create happy clients, it often leads to sales right then and there.
Be sure to do the little things in your retail store and watch your sales grow.
